Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov meets Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin

On July 9, in Innopolis, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Mishustin thanked Minnikhanov for organizing the visit of the delegation of the Russian Government to the republic. “The situation was difficult in all regions of the country, in particular, in Tatarstan. However, today you have showed us how the republic had addressed the challenges associated with the pandemic. We have seen that a new building of the Agafonova Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital was erected in a72-day period. This is an example of how to use all the available technologies and innovations in such conditions, to solve a very important issue to help people. I think that you should spread this practice throughout the country,” the Prime Minister said.

Minnikhanov thanked Mishustin for implementing federal measures to support the population during the pandemic and informed the Russian Prime Minister about the current economic situation in the republic and measures taken to support the business sector. Tatarstan President also thanked Mishustin for the decisions made at the federal level to support the IT industry.

Then, Minnikhanov handed in the medal “100 years of the foundation of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic” to Mishustin.

Then, Tatarstan State Counsellor, Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation Mintimer Shaimiev joined the meeting. Mishustin reminded that last time he met Shaimiev a year ago. “I want to say that I am very glad to visit the republic. This is my first visit after the pandemic. Unfortunately, the situation with coronavirus did not allow us to travel to the regions. Today, Rustam Nurgalievich and I observed the progress of the construction of a new building for the infectious diseases hospital. I also want to remind that when you worked as the President of Tatarstan, we opened the Alabuga Special Economic Zone, tomorrow we are going to go there. I want to thank you for the systemic support that you provided to such powerful innovative projects,” the Prime Minister said.

Shaimiev thanked Mishustin for his kind words. “Times are not easy.  A lot of work needs to be done after making amendments to the Constitution, including both new approaches and mechanisms. We should join our efforts to achieve success, because people will wait, and they are right - they have a right to do so, and we must meet their expectations,” he stressed.
