Rustam Minnikhanov: “We appreciate our relations with Turkey”

On November 27, at his meeting with Head of Russian-Turkish Business Association Naki Karaaslan and Turkish Ambassador to Russia Umit Yardym in Moscow, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan leadership appreciates high level of relations with Turkey and is interested in expanding cooperation. 

Tatarstan Vice-premier - Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, Vice-premier - plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia Ravil Akhmetshin, and Aide to Tatarstan President on international issues Radik Gimatdinov took part in the meeting.

Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed Naki Karaaslan and Umit Yardym and thanked them for an opportunity to meet heads of Turkish biggest enterprises. He noted that Tatarstan-Turkey relations are rapidly developing, and major investment projects of Turkish companies are being implemented in Tatarstan. 

Minnikhanov continued that a big Turkey-Russia forum with participation of heads of the countries Vladimir Putin and Recep Erdoğan will be held in Ankara on December 1, and Tatarstan delegation will take part in the forum. 

In his turn, Umit Yardym said that the current visit will favour further development of relations between Turkey and Tatarstan. 

Naki Karaaslan thanked Tatarstan President for participation in presentation of the republic for members of the association, and said that Turkish businessmen are interested in developing cooperation with Tatarstan, in particular in production of automotive components. 

“You are right to say that Russia has a high potential of production of automotive components. All world car manufacturers are presented in Russia today. There are two big automotive plants in the republic. Therefore, the experience of Turkish colleagues in this sphere is very important for us,” Minnikhanov said addressing Naki Karaaslan. 

According to Tatarstan President, Tatarstan and Turkey have many prospective areas of cooperation, including tourism and medicine.
