Tatarstan President meets Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs

On November 30, during his working trip to Turkey, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Mayor of Ankara Melih Gökçek. 

Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Rustam Minnikhanov had met before in Kazan, when Çavuşoğlu was Chairman of Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and Turkish Minister for EU affairs. 

At today’s meeting Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for his warm reception during all his visits to Kazan, including the forum “Kazansummit-2014”.

Minnikhanov, in his turn, told the minister about development of relations between Tatarstan and Turkey since that time. In particular, he mentioned opening of two new enterprises at Alabuga Special Economic Zone, and other plants to be open by Turkish residents in the nearest time. 

Çavuşoğlu noted high level of relations between Turkey and the republic and assured Minnikhanov of his willingness to facilitate strengthening of these relations.
